Smith, who plays Lloyd, is an expert in the rodeo world
Story
A Montana ranching family faces off against others encroaching on their land. Forrie J. John Dutton (Kevin Costner) seems to frequently "forget" his Montana accent and reverts to the Southern California voice he often uses.
Reminiscent of Rock Hudson in "Giant," he tries to hold on to the old ways
Featured on WatchMojo: Top 10 Summer TV Shows Not on Your Radar (2018) Kevin Costner is the patriarch presiding over a dynastic ranch the size of some countries. His way of life is affected by tourist promoters, tribal rights, and the authority of the state of Montana. "Yellowstone" unfolds quickly with little introduction, but its story unravels with the natural rhythm of a day in the wilderness, pausing for tribal rituals, cowboy conventions, and political machinations.
Land and family are his lifeblood
It's a far-reaching adventure that focuses on the seams between law and justice, family and friendship. Costner steps into his character's boots naturally, it seems. He's a world-weary man who's seen too much and lied too often.
Update 7/20/18: After four episodes, this series has a strong voice and a persistent pace
He can hear approaching footsteps, but he can only fulfill his role, out of habit as much as loyalty. Though some actions are a bit confusing due to lack of explanation, it feels natural, as if the viewer is getting an authentic glimpse of life in another world. I hope the resolution of this saga includes an emotional payoff that justifies its breadth and attention to detail.

We learn the fullness of each story, from roots to fruits. I'm upping my rating to a "9." A new season of "Silo" is one of the biggest TV and streaming premieres this month.
