Story

Jesus and Mary are a couple going through a rough patch in their relationship. To shape their new life, they decide to buy a new coffee table. A decision that changes their lives.. I really liked her husband, Jesus

I thought I was watching a horror movie. It kind of was; it was real life, natural horror. No monsters, supernaturals, nightmares, or things that go bump in the night. I gave it a 6 because I think it deserves a little better than Halfway. Not much character development, but we do get a very small portion of the three characters – Jesus, Mary, and Jesus' brother Carlos. Maria could be really annoying at times; there's really nothing likeable about him.

And Ruth, the 13-year-old neighbor, ugh

The contrast between them is so profound that I don't see how they could be together. I've known opposite couples, but this couple was not believable to me. He is the ultimate character and by the end of the film, I understood why he is in this film. The actor did a good job in his performance because, like Maria, I just wanted to dive into the film and slap him a few times. It is a dark and emotionally dark film. It was also shot in low light with very little color, except for one scene with a lot of bright colors, which I'm sure was done on purpose.

feelings for me

It was all about the characters. It was very difficult to watch at times. There is some black comedy in the first act, but it doesn't last long. I can't say if I would recommend this movie, I'm torn. I don't think it's a waste of an hour and a half, but I think you have to be prepared to go into it knowing that it's dark and emotionally raw, and that it's not a horror movie. I don't know how IMDB determines what genres of movies they list, but The Coffee Table is not a horror movie, or at least not what I think the average horror fan wants when looking for one.

Drama is the only genre that makes sense

It's also listed as a dark comedy, but there are so few of those that I don't think it belongs there. Even tragedy would work if it were a course. Now I'm off looking for a real horror movie that I haven't seen. UNZERBRECHLICHE UNZERBRECHLICHE JUNGE X265 MAGNET
