In the timeless city of Macondo, seven generations of the Buendía family experience love, oblivion and the inevitability of their past and destiny. It is Netflix's most expensive Latin American project to date, with Colombian groups and an indigenous population. It's funny that I don't remember the book like that at all.
or tragic love, human nature
Of course it was creepy, but then the author is very poetic in expressing old curses and the like... All this comes from a master of the genre. It's pretty much all swept away, not in the first episode, I was interested then, and I hope you'll let the alchemy/magic happen like I let it.
Makes me want to read the novel again, now!
Let the trickster's cloak clothe you in your fantasy story. It all comes back to history and memory and how unreliable and convoluted they are and what we make of them. Like something from "Game of Thrones" fever.
Sad but beautiful
The difference is that I can't read the original, only the translation. This is not Dickens and a Christmas story for children, but a story for adults. And very welcome in difficult political times.
