Lauren Lavera said that she saw only part of this film
Story
A novice art restorer travels to a small Italian village to restore a medieval painting to its former glory. He does not even suspect that he is putting his life in danger because of a sinister curse and a monster born from myths and cruel pain. When I read the synopsis, I thought, Great, finally a horror movie that doesn't have a story of a group of friends dying or a family moving into a haunted house, etc.
Here everything starts to go wrong
d." Well, unfortunately, it doesn't give what it could have been. The story begins with the main character, a picture restorer, who goes to Italy to (of course!) restore the picture. On the way, he meets several guys who go to another place, but find themselves locked in the same mansion.
And who is this fat, born son of a bitch?
When the prisoners appear, the film immediately turns into torture porn, which distracts from the supernatural theme and adds little to the story. Why does he have such stupid paint on his face? He doesn't add much to the story other than he's a man who acts out some mundane wall torture.
It's a shame, because this movie really had potential
The so-called well, which is the longer title of the film, actually plays a somewhat insignificant role in the overall scheme of things, and perhaps another title would be appropriate. The ending is a complete disappointment and anti-climax, with lackluster performances from almost all the characters involved, with the possible exception of Lauren LaVerry, who somehow manages to endure it all and get the most out of it. Well, I'm sure all those low-intellectual bloodhounds infecting horror fans will get some enjoyment out of this.
