After recovery, the series returned to production

Story

A retired CIA agent is haunted by both the agency he once worked for and his own nightmares when, after nearly three decades, he is suddenly visited by an unknown man. Production was halted in March 2020 due to government restrictions. During this time, Jeff Bridges was diagnosed with and subsequently treated for non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.

The first two episodes are great

Bridges described the return as coming back after a "long weekend" on podcast in July 2022. Presented at the 75th Primetime Emmy Awards (2024). So far the cast in the series has been excellent.

The acting style was very well done by experienced professionals

Jeff Bridges is fantastic in The Old Man as is John Lithgow. Amy Frederica Brenneman was what this show needed; she brings a sense of mystery to her character Amy just like in the HBO series The Leftovers. Her sense of vulnerability suits Jeff Bridges so well, even when Jeff wants out of "hell" he is drawn to the characters of Zoe Macdonald, Amy, there is real chemistry as the two actors play off each other.

This is excellent network television

The Old Man has extremely intelligent writing, elevated by the talent of the Ensemble. This thriller is going in some intriguing directions, I'm very interested to see how this series develops! Can't wait for the next episode! Premiere episode 8/10.
